Islamabad Toastmasters Club receives Beat the Clock Award

In its 53rd meeting at National Institute of Cultural Studies (NICS), Lok Virsa Gate #5, Islamabad, Islamabad Toastmasters Club (ITC) announced clinching the Beat the Clock Award from its Headquarters in the USA. "Beat the Clock" award is is about finishing the year on schedule -with a bang!

ITC has also initiated a Leadership Excellence Series Program. Toastmaster Suhail Iqbal ACB, CL made a second presentation on "Developing a Mission Statement"

Developing competent communicator and competent leaders in a friendly supportive environment, 13 participants attended the meeting out which one was a guest. The monthly theme was "INDEPENDENCE" and the Theme of the Day was "CHALLENGE". The Word of the Day suggested by the Word Master Toastmaster Junaid Kalyar was "FREEDOM". 

Table Topics Master Asim Husain invited six participants to make impromptu speeches. The purpose of impromptu speech is to enable the speakers to Think on their Feet and deliver the Extempore Speech.

Toastmaster Bilal Javed won the prize for the Best Table Topics Speaker. The topic given to him was "What are the weaknesses Pakistan is facing since its independence?"

Out the two prepared speeches which each speaker delivers between 5 and 7 minutes, Toastmaster Asim Husain has clinched the Best Prepared Speaker Award. His topic was "Languages of Promotion used in Marketing".  

Evaluation, the essential part of the Toastmasters\' activity, to give feedback on the performance of participants and ambiance which includes vocal variety, ah counting, correct grammar usage On the evaluation side, out of the two speech evaluators and one Table Topics Evaluator, ToastMaster Numan Faridi, won the Best Evaluator Award.

Amongst the BIG 3, The ToastMaster of the Day, The Table Topics Master and the General Evaluator, Toastmaster Mohsin Lodhi, who performed as the Toastmaster of the Evening won the Big 3 Award.

The next meeting will be held on 25 August 2009 at 6:30pm at the same place.
