Islamabad Toastmasters Club held its 51st meeting at National Institute of Cultural Studies (NICS), Lok Virsa.

According to a press release issued here, Wednesday, the objective of Islamabad Toastmasters Club is to develop competent communicators and leaders with a motto of ‘For better listening, For better thinking, For better speaking, We learn by doing’.

Around 15 participants attended the meeting. The monthly theme was ‘Independence’. The Word of the Day suggested by the Word Master Toastmaster Asim Husain was ‘Freedom’. Table Topics Master Mian Mohammed Ramzan invited seven participants to make impromptu speeches. The purpose of impromptu speech is to enable the speakers to ‘Think on their Feet’ and deliver the extempore speech.

Bilal Javed won the prize for the best table topics speaker. The topic given to him was ‘What if you were the flag of Pakistan?’ Toastmaster Asim Husain bagged the ‘Best Prepared Speaker Award.’ His topic was ‘Integrity’.

The next meeting of the toastmaster club will be held on August 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the same venue.
