Toastmasters Club Conducts Table Topics Contest and Award Distribution Ceremony

Islamabad Toastmasters Club conducted Annual Table Topics Contest this week at NICS, Lok Virsa, Islamabad. A large number of guests and families were invited. DTM Mazhar Jamil was the Contest Master and he conducted the contest with the help of four judges. Twelve Toastmasters participated in the contest. They were all sent to a separate waiting room and called into the hall one by one. They were all given the same topic and each speaker had to speak for minimum one minute and maximum two and a half minutes. The Table Topics Contest question was, “If you were a traffic signal, which light would you like to be and why?”

All the speakers spoke and performed very well however after finalizing the judges’ points, Toastmaster Mohsin Lodhi won the first prize, Toastmaster Umer Javed Chughtai second while Toastmaster Bilal Javed won the third prize. DTM Mazhar Jamil distributed the Table Topics Contest awards.

Moreover, in the Annual Award Distribution Ceremony, several members were awarded with certificates, ribbons and awards based on their performance and contributions to the success of Islamabad Toastmasters Club. President Islamabad Toastmasters Club, Toastmaster Mohsin Lodhi announced the names of the members. The members who received certificates of appreciation were Toastmaster Mian Muhammad Ramzan, Toastmaster Shahid Altaf Qureshi, Toastmaster Asim Hussain, Toastmaster Ehsan ul Haq Abbasi and Toastmaster Nauman Faridi. DTM Mazhar Jamil was given a special award for his continuous support and guidance to the club.

The ceremony was followed by a dinner and all the members and guests enjoyed very much. When asked for their comments, all the guests shared their views and appreciated the efforts of Islamabad Toastmasters Club in providing a great learning and practicing opportunity to the people in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to improve their communication, leadership and public speaking skills.
