Islamabad Toastmasters Club Meeting Held

Islamabad Toastmasters Club held the 66th regular meeting on November 24, 2009 at Lok Virsa, Islamabad. Presiding Officer, Toastmaster Mohsin Lodhi emphasized the importance of Communication and Public Speaking skills in his presidential address and also asked the guests for their introduction. A very good number of guests were present in the meeting.

Toastmaster of the evening, Toastmaster Shahid Altaf Qureshi explained the meeting format and introduced the role players. Table Topics Master, Toastmaster Mumtaz Anwar conducted the session in an innovative and novel style. He created the environment according to the theme of the meeting, i.e., ‘In the Court’. He invited the members and gave them the topics as the charge sheets and asked them speak in their defense. This was marvelous and everyone enjoyed it very much. Toastmaster Nauman Faridi won the Best Table Topics Speaker award.

In the prepared speeches, Toastmaster Bilal Javed delivered his second project while Competent Leader & Communicator Toastmaster Maliha Elahi delivered her 4th speech from the Advanced Communicator’s Manual: “Story Telling”. Toastmaster Bilal Javed won the Best Speaker award. The Best Evaluator award was given to Distinguished Toastmaster Dr. Mazhar Jamil while the Table Topics Master, Toastmaster Mumtaz Anwar won the Big 3 Award.

After the meeting, the induction ceremony of a new member, Toastmaster Zaheer-ud-Din Khawaja was conducted and he was awarded with the Toastmasters membership pin and manuals.
